Customs and Fine Arts
For many years, LP Art has been assisting all of its clients with handling administrative and customs formalitiesrequired to transport works of art around the world.
It's a real business that we've decided tointegrate as a service in its own right, for museums and exhibition organizers as well as private individuals.
In France, as in other countries, there are regulations governing the circulation of works of art. Control is exercised jointly by the Ministry of Culture and the Customs Service. These so-called "Beaux-Arts" formalities, if necessary, must be carried out before customs formalities. A number of formalities are involved in both the Fine Arts and Customs formalities.
It is therefore important to know exactly—depending on the intended use of the work—which forms to fill out and which documents are required to be attached.
For example, certain works of art are considered "cultural property" and require authorization before they can be removed. And for a "national treasure", there is a specific temporary exit procedure.
Our experience enables us to simplify and manage the entire process, so that your works can circulate freely and in compliance with the rules.
Some of our colleagues occasionally call on our services for their own international shipments. This is proof that this service requires genuine technical knowledge and operational experience.
