Renovation of the National Maritime Museum

During 2017, the Musée National de la Marine in Paris closed its doors to the public for a major renovation. The reopening is scheduled for 2021.

Within this framework, the entire collection must be removed from the museum! (the essential being stored in the reserves of the Museum in Paris area)

It consists mainly of models of ships from all periods and in all sizes, from the smallest pieces meticulously carved in ivory to the gigantic Canot de l'Empereur (21 meters long). The collections also include numerous prints, large paintings, figureheads, and navigation and artillery items.

An LP ART team was on site in January 2018 for an initial site and a second one began in late March 2018.

In parallel with these operations at the Palais de Chaillot, LP Art has brought back from Normandy for the Musée de la Marine, a 10-meter long, 2-tonne one-design shark and a 12.50-meter long, 8.5-tonne cutter, the "Anahita" with which Louis Bernicot, a French sailor, completed the fourth solo circumnavigation of the globe in 1938 after 21 months at sea. The next step for these two boats is to obtain the necessary funds for a beautiful restoration!
