Inaugurated on November 5, 2019 in the presence of President Emmanuel Macron, the "Centre Pompidou × West Bund Museum Project" is the French cultural institution's third location outside of France after those in Malaga and Brussels and represents a major artistic and cultural exchange project between France and China.
Located in the heart of the new Xuhui Waterfront district, which aims to be the largest "cultural corridor" in Asia in the future, the museum will host an impressive multidisciplinary program during the five years of the partnership signed with the Centre Pompidou.
Two galleries are reserved for a semi-permanent exhibition entitled "The Shape of Time," featuring works by French, foreign and Chinese artists from 1905 to the present. The third gallery is occupied by the temporary exhibition "Observations", composed mainly of videos.
This was a great reference for LP Art, which took care of the transportation of this important exhibition: nearly 130 works lent by the Centre Pompidou had to be packed and crated, and numerous cargo shipments had to be organized to Shanghai.
