Handling: the White Bear in Orsay

TheWhite Bear is a statue of the sculptor French animal painter François Pompon (1855-1933), whose first model appeared at the Salon d'automne of 1922. The best known example of this sculpture is in the Musée d'Orsay since 1986, stone statue of 4 tons (H. 163 ; L. 251 ; D. 90 cm).
Particularly delicate handling, on May 29, 2019, thePolar Bear was removed from its base on the first floor with the help of two gantries and the appropriate slinging, placed on a handling platform, transferred with a pallet truck to Terrasse Lille, and then installed again on the gantry on a new base.
Congratulations to the eight LP installers, including a team leader, mobilized for this operation!
