Return of Michelangelo's Slaves to the Louvre Sculptures

Two statues by Michelangelo, "The Rebellious Slave" and "The Dying Slave," which remained outside for 250 years before entering the Louvre in 1994, had suffered from the vagaries of the weather. After an elaborate restoration by the restorers at the Centre de Recherche et de Restauration des Musées de France (C2RMF), they have been back in the Sculpture Department since 22 March 2022.
These two masterpieces, each weighing approximately one ton, were put back in place by an LP Art team led by Thierry Dieudonnat, one of our company's most experienced installers.
